Weather by month
South Lake Tahoe
California
A high mountain basin with brilliant dry summers, hard winters that arrive with chain controls, and nights that stay cold in every month of the year.
The best time to come
It depends entirely on what you came for. July through September is the golden stretch — warm days, cold clear nights, and a lake people actually get into. If you came for snow, February usually has the deepest base and enough daylight to use it.
